Let’s Discuss EVERGREEN Social Media vs. SHORT-LIVED Social Media- Idea Diary Ep.222
In Episode 222 of Idea Diary - Today, I ramble about a HUGE A-Ha moment that I got from watching a Sunny Lenarduzzi video. I’ve always know that something sucks about Facebook, IG, Twitter, Linkedin, but Youtube is so awesome and valuable, and now I realize why. Youtube is EVERGREEN, which is content that is most likely to be valuable for a longer period of time; possibly forever. Plus, social media platforms like Youtube, Pinterest, Personal Blogs are more valuable for your brand, because people are searching for a certain topic, and then discovering YOU. No one is really on Facebook, Linkedin, or Instagram to find answers to questions. Those are more NOW platforms. No one really goes to old tweets to see what you tweeted about yesterday. They usually just follow, and keep up with the future posts. Divide you social platforms in your mind from EVERGREEN long-lasting content with SHORT-LIVED Today only content that really only works if you have a current audience. This is not to say that you can’t grow an audience on a short-lived social media platform, but it’s an up-hill battle. You’ve got to be super involved with all the trends, and possibly make it a full-time effort until you reach success. (I know there are a ton of people that may say it doesn’t take a bunch of time, but I would consider research and getting good at a platform like Instagram Fame takes tons of research to be a real expert. This is an exciting revelation for me.
I don’t know about you, but I am focusing solely on EVERGREEN Social. (Note: I would consider TikTok the best of both worlds, because the algorithm currently will feed old content to new followers.)
