WOODWORKING… MAKING A 1/4 INCH DOWEL MAKING JIG

The cost of this project is actually under $1.00. I am sure I’m not the first to come up with this idea but I’m always looking to save money. The jig is made from a 1 1/2 inch corner bracket. First, I made sure the hole was 1/4 inch by using a steel cutting bit. Then as shown on the video I cut a small grove at an angle as shown and bent it slightly. The rest is explained in the video. This worked so well I plan on drilling the bottom hole to 3/8th size as these are two most common dowels I use in my shop.
