Chicken yard landscaping doesn't have to be bare. Mature lavender plants will survive, is safe for chickens to eat, you can cut the flowers and stems to spread in the coop to create an ambiance of nice smells and to ward off bugs and you can harvest flowers and stems for your own use. If you have outdoor cats you must check them for worms! If they do have worms you will see little white hangers on that look like little pieces of rice on their backsides. We use Diatomaceous Earth in their food and if the worms still survive then we use Frontline. We are able to avoid Frontline most of the time.

We weren't sure how it was going to go with our cats meeting the chickens for the first time. 2 out of 3 of our cats hadn't met chickens before. We think the third one has met chickens before because he has a very strong opinion about them.

Zoe Cat been up to no good! Floki Cat is not happy about her activities and, according to Floki, he almost dies. It's very dramatic.
P.S. I tried for hours to make the cat at the end look like Zoe but it just wasn't happening so she looks like a kitten.... She's gone back to her younger days for a moment but you get the idea anyways.

Using iMyFone VoxBox we created a voice for Floki Cat who shares his new voice (cloned from PawPaw's heavy Chicago mobster accent, doesn't really sound like we were thinking but......) and takes us on a little multidimensional excursion using Midjourney AI Art Generator for text to image AI creations.
NOTE: In the video Floki Cat makes a reference to Chicago (where Momma and PawPaw lived for many years before moving to Wisconsin) and for those of you who don't know, Chicago has been known for their very large rats. One of their solutions a few years back was to let strays loose on the streets to combat the rat population. So, that's what's behind that reference to Chicago.
