Most people today live a life of scarcity. Most people wake up every morning and tell themselves that they didn't get enough sleep. They come home from work each day, and they say they didn't get enough done at work that day, and then they go to bed every single night, and they tell themselves that tomorrow is going to be different.

Have you ever told yourself that? Have you told yourself that tomorrow is going to be different and then it's just the same day over and over again? You keep telling yourself that you didn't do enough, that you don't have enough. Are you living a life of scarcity?

Listen, we are the stories that we tell ourselves. You are the story that you tell yourself every single day. If you tell yourself that you're not getting enough sleep but you're not doing anything about it, your life is not going to change. If you tell yourself that you're not getting enough work done, you're not going to get more work done the next day because you're telling yourself who you are, but it's very easy to change and it takes two words. I am.

That's all you need to say I am, and then put what you want after that. So rather than saying, I am tired because I didn't get enough sleep. Tell Yourself; I am full of energy. Tell yourself what you're going to do every single morning when you wake up. Do you wake up in the morning and just let the rest of the day happen, or do you wake up in the morning and say, this is what I'm going to do today, this is what I'm going to accomplish today and then set out to do it, or are you going to just sit there and continue to live your life in scarcity - thinking that there's not enough?

There's never enough time, there's never enough money there's not enough time for me to train, there's not time for me to meditate. There's not time for me to exercise.

There is enough time. There's plenty of time for what you want in your life. So who are you telling yourself you are?

All right guys. So today I just want to give you a quick tip on breathing and shooting. And why I think this is so important is because the way shooting is taught, for the most part, people teach you to hold your breath. In fact, when I was running the sniper course, that's what I taught. But you know, in that case, there are going to be times, you don't want to hold your breath, but you are going to want to shoot during what's called your natural respiratory pause. So you breathe in, you breathe out, and during that natural pause when you want to break your shot, and that's when you're taking long shots, like you're taking sniper, but if you're not doing that what you need to do, what you want to do is you want to continue to breathe naturally and people will argue this.
I hear it all the time. I see the comments on Youtube and yes I'm talking to you. If you're one of those people that left those comments then this quick tip is for you, but what you want to do is keep breathing and the reason you hear this bad advice is because people breathe the wrong way.
We are naturally supposed to breathe in and out through our noses and our bellies are supposed to rise and fall as we breathe. But if you're to take a deep breath in right now, go ahead and do it with me.
Most of you, when you do that (okay, you can let it out), what you tend to do is you raise up your shoulders and your chest goes out, so when you're shooting, that is going to affect your shooting platform. Whereas if you're just doing belly breathing like you should do, it's much healthier for you. Get much more oxygen and you'll be able to shoot better. In this video, I'm going to teach you why sight alignment is more important than trigger control. Now let's go ahead and get started.

All right, so one of the most interesting debates that I see going on online is the debate between what's more important. Is it trigger control or is it sight alignment? And I believe, and I hope to show you with some evidence here that it is sight alignment is always going to be more important than trigger control.

All right, so first up, let me just exaggerate this so you can quickly grasp why it's more important and hopefully this will click with you if you. If you are on the trigger side of the debate, hopefully, you'll look at this, you're either going to look at it and you're going to go, you know what that makes sense or you're going to go wait a minute, that's not right and you'll find some reason why it's not right and I'll go back and hopefully address those after this.

I have my handy SIRT pistol here and let's just again exaggerate and talk about this debate and see which one is more important. So I am on the side that says making sure that these sites are aligned is more important than how this trigger, well, how my finger moves, right? Because we're talking about trigger finger manipulating that trigger. So if I were to take these sites and say you're my target right here, but my sites are off over here. Remember I said I was going to exaggerate so my sites are not aligned with where I want them to be, but I am going to gingerly, caress this trigger so perfectly that it is just going so smoothly move to the rear until the sear releases and - oh, the round went off.

But guess what? I missed my target. How can that be? Because I practiced perfect trigger control. I manipulated that trigger so nicely. I didn't pull it right, because some people don't like the word pulling the trigger. I didn't push the trigger or you know, I pressed it. I caressed it bac..

When most of us are training or practicing or performing a crucial skill in our life, something we want to be good at or we have to be good at. Most of us are either living in the past and thinking about how we performed in the past or we're looking into the future and wondering how are we going to do and what's going to happen in the future rather than being in the present moment where we can actually affect some change on what we're doing

Say in golf, if you're playing golf and you are not being present - in the present moment of that swing, actually the exact instant that your club makes contact with that ball, you have no control over what's going to happen if you're thinking about the last shot you made, if you're thinking about two holes down and what's going to happen, who's in the lead? Who's going to win? If you're thinking about any of that, rather than being present the exact second, the instant that that club makes, contact with the ball. You have no control, none over what's going to happen.

Let me be clear. If you are not keenly aware of what is happening in this instant, you have zero control over the outcome, but listen, learning to be present is really easy. All you need to do is meditate and meditating is also very easy.

All you need to do is close your eyes and focus on one thing. Focus on your breath and doing this is going to help you clear your mind and be able to control what you're focusing on in every moment of your life, and here's why meditation is so important or being present is so important.

You know your conscious mind can only focus on one thing at a time, but your subconscious can literally focus on hundreds of things. It can track hundreds of things that are going on around you, and every cell in your body has consciousness. It can give you vital information that can help you, and that's what meditating does. Hey guys, what is going on in this quick tip I really just want to kind of give you some information. Maybe debunk a myth that's out there and that is - Is dry fire bad for your firearm? And it's kind of a tough one to answer because there are firearms that you don't want to do it with and other ones that it's fine to do with. And in general, if you are shooting a modern centerfire a handgun like most of you shoot, then it is perfectly fine to do dry fire. And when I'm saying dry fire here, I specifically mean that you are pulling the trigger on a gun that does not have a live round in the chamber, so your gun is not going to go bang. That is what I mean here.
When I teach dry fire I like to call it dry weapons manipulation or dry weapons training, I say that because when I teach it, I mean everything that has to do with getting better at shooting.
When I say dry fire training, I'm talking about everything that makes you a better shooter. I'm talking about meditation, I'm talking about working on your eyesight, working on your grip strength, doing visualization training, planning out your training, working on drawing your weapon, working on clearing malfunctions. All of this stuff is going to make you a better shooter besides this one little last act that you do and squeezing off a round on that trigger, but in answering the question here, in busting the myth in general, no, it's not bad.
One thing to think about is when there is around in that chamber and the gun does go bang - That's a lot of pressure and a lot of potential damage that could be happening in there and if nothing goes wrong there, it's not going to happen. When the gun doesn't go bang that little dropping the hammer on an empty chamber. It's not going to damage the gun if there's nothing wrong with a gun. Now there are things that are wrong with a gun. Guns will break usually from firing them too much or maybe there's a defect in them, but in ge..

Alright, so let's talk about the ABCs of surviving a violent encounter. And I'll tell you first off; it involves much more than just protecting yourself from that violent encounter because the best thing you can possibly do is prevent that violent encounter from ever even happening. And that's what I want to talk about right here.

Alright, so what are the ABCs? Well, the ABCs stand for Awareness, Building your defenses, and Calming the threat.

So first up, let's talk about Awareness. Awareness, I'm sure you know, being aware, situational awareness is one of the best things that you can do, one of the best skills you can have to be able to prevent a violent encounter from happening. So how do you build awareness? Well, the number one way that I know how to build your situational awareness and being more aware is to meditate, and what meditation does is it teaches your brain to clear out all the clutter and it's not clearing your brain like you have no thoughts, but what it teaches you to do is clear out the clutter. So thoughts that aren't really important at that moment in time and teaches you to think about what you need to think about or what you need to focus on during a violent encounter. So when you're meditating, say you're thinking about your breath and you're just focusing on your breath.

You're going to have thoughts that come into your mind like, oh, what do I need to do right now? Or, I'm wasting my time and my meditating, right? Those are all fine. Everybody has thoughts when they meditate, but what meditation does is it teaches you to acknowledge those thoughts and go, yeah, I noticed that thought and but I'm going to choose to focus on my breath. So then when it comes to a violent encounter, awareness, your ability to b..

I'm not a shooter; I'm not a firearms instructor. What I am is a trainer. There's a lot of comments that I see online with my videos, and my training and people are always asking why are there no videos of this guy shooting and almost calling me out like if this guy can't shoot, he can't teach me anything, but that's exactly what I do. That is what I'm good at. I'm a trainer.

What I do, what my skill is, is teaching others to be the best that they can be at whatever skill that they want to get good at. So to get better at my skill, at what I do, what I need to teach others, a trainer - to get better at that, that is what I practice. That is what I do. That is what I study day and night.

My life is teaching others. It's not shooting. It used to be shooting, but it's not now. Now it's peak performance. It is getting people to where they want to go as fast as possible.

Listen, it does not bother me if people say they're a better shooter than me or think they can shoot better than me or want to have some type of shooting competition with me. In fact, if you're one of my students, I am hoping and praying and doing everything I can to make sure that you do shoot better than me. That is my goal in life is making people better than me.

Listen, when shooting was my job, when that was the skill that I needed to be good at. When I was a Navy SEAL, I was a great shooter, and in fact, when the Navy hand-selected me to write the SEAL sniper manual, I don't think they did it because of my extreme good looks. They did it because I was a pretty good shooter and I was able to teach people how to shoot.

Listen, if you want to watch great shooters, shoot, that is fine. It's fun to watch if that's what you're into, but I'll tell you this, it is never going to make you a better shooter to simply watch somebody else shoot. It can be entertaining, but it's not going to make you better. If you want to get better at anything in your life, you need to find a great teacher.

Hey guys, what is going on? Just a quick tip on how to improve your situational awareness and the way to do that is think about situational awareness as peripheral vision. Okay? And if you do that, you'll see how easy it is to train in so many different ways and what's been happening, why people need to do this so much. First off is because we are all on our mobile devices and you see it all the time. People looking down at their phones or their ipads and everything's just closing off around us when we're running - If people are running, they're doing it on a treadmill where nothing's going by us and we need to open really open that up and see what's going on around us in the way to do that again is to understand it's your peripheral vision and I don't want to get into all the details on rods and cones in your eyes and what picks up movement and stuff like that, but all you need to do to start training this is number one, get your head out of your mobile devices as much as you can, like get up, look around.
If you're going to go for a run, go outside because as you're outside, you're going to be seeing all these things moving past you. Your environment's constantly changing. As you walk down the street, keep your eyes straight forward and just look in and see what you can see in your peripheral vision without changing your eyes, keep looking straight ahead and start noticing, hey, wait a minute. Like right now, I'm looking straight ahead. I can see my lights over here and there's aset of books over there and I can see almost everything. And, and as you do that even more and more like, I know what's behind me, I sense that and that is the situational awareness that you want and you're going to be able to build and it's really easy now that you know how to do it.

Hey guys, what is going on? Chris Sajnog here, retired Navy SEAL and founder of the SEAL Training System, and in this video, I want to teach you the three F's of personal protection. Now let's go ahead and get started.

All right, so a lot of times when we find ourselves in a stressful situation, especially a violent encounter of some sort, we may be dropping a bunch of f-bombs in hopes that maybe saying a bunch of offensive f-words is somehow magically going to help protect us or our families. But in reality, there are three better, more useful f-words that I'm going to teach you that can help you protect yourself or your family in any violent situation. And they are to Flow, to Fight and to Follow up.

So first up is to Flow. Now, Flowing means that you're flowing like water through any situation. You're just as smooth as can be. It means that you are in control of the situation and a lot of times people have heard about fight or flight, and or freeze. So those tend to be the three reactions to any stressful situation that people are taught. But what I like to teach is the fourth F, and that is to Flow.

So what happens in a stressful situation, you're going to fight if you understand the situation and you believe you can win that situation, so you're attacked by somebody and because of your training, you go, you know what? I'm bigger than this guy; I can take him. I'm going to fight him for whatever reason. That is your fight response.

The next one is to take Flight or to run away. And you're going to do that when you understand the situation, but you think you can't win that situation. So you know what's going on. You're like, okay, this dude is like six foot seven, 300 pounds and it's all muscle and he's got a knife and, I'm going to run away.

And then the other one is the deer in the headlights and that is to Freeze. So what happens here is you have no idea what the situation. It'd be like, for me, I've never practiced what I would do if an alien spac..

You know, we really need to stop beating ourselves up over not feeling motivated because, you know what, if you don't feel motivated all the time, guess what? You're human.

Our bodies are designed to follow the law of least effort to conserve energy, and this is what's allowed us to survive as a species for so long.

You may have heard of Newton's first law of motion and it goes something like "a body at rest will tend to stay at rest unless it is acted upon by an outside force and a body in motion will tend to stay in motion unless it's acted upon with some resistance" or something like that.

And you really need to ask yourself, if you're at rest, what is going to make you start moving? What's going to give you that energy? What is going to motivate you? And it has to be yourself, right? It states in Newton's law of motion that it needs to be acted upon. So either you need to act upon it or somebody else is going to act upon it for you.

So say for instance, when it comes to training, you need to motivate yourself. You need to get out of your chair and start training, and that's going to get you moving because you don't want an outside force acting upon you. That gets you motivated because that could be somebody coming into your home, breaking into your home, doing something to you and your family. You don't want to wait for that to get motivated to train. You need to act upon yourself.

Listen, I know it's going to be hard. You literally need to fight against what your body is designed to do to be able to get to where you want to be, but I'll tell you this, once you start going, it's going to start snowballing and it gets so much easier.

Starting is always the hardest part. It's like trying to get a steam engine moving, you know, a big long train and it takes a lot of power, a lot of energy, in your case, a lot of self-motivation to get moving, but you know what? Once that steam train gets moving, it's very hard to stop and you're going to be hard to st..

Hey guys, what's going on? In this quick tip, I just want to show you very quickly where you should place your holster. It's a question I get all the time and obviously with so many different holsters and types of firearms and different body designs and all that, different places to carry. There are literally hundreds or thousands of combinations, but this is the one tip that you need to be able to figure out where you need to put your holster.
Now, first off, obviously you're going to figure out where you're going to carry it so inside the waistband or an appendix carry. Is it outside, or under the arm, wherever it is, figure out where that is.
Then what I want you to do is get a good solid grip on your firearm and I do that by getting into my shooting position and now when I have my good grip, now I can go back with this perfect grip because once I grip my firearm, that's all I get.
I don't get to keep trying to regrip. The gun is I'm coming out trying to shoot. Right? I want to have a good grip from the start. So start with a good grip. Now say, for instance, I'm going to put it on outside my waistband here on my side. What's a normal position for my hand to be in here? So like what can I get to? Maybe I can't get back because of my shoulders a little tight. I can't get this far back. Okay. So I know it needs to be here. Some people ask me should I have a cant, should it be canted out? Should it be canted back or forward? These are all things you can only figure out with you and your gun in your perfect grip. I don't like cants at all.
A lot of people will count it out usually because you have love handles or a little bit more than love handles. So I'd say work on that first, but figure out where that is. If it's inside here, where is it comfortable in here? Where can you get a good grip from and that's where it's going to be.
